Dandelion Chocolate

Dandelion Chocolate, a renowned bean-to-bar chocolate maker based in San Francisco, expanded its presence to Pacific Heights with a location at 2115 Fillmore Street. Originally launched as a pop-up in 2022, this shop became a permanent fixture, offering a curated selection of single-origin chocolate bars, confections, and gift items.

Founded in 2010 by Todd Masonis and Cameron Ring, Dandelion Chocolate began as a small workshop in the Mission District, emphasizing small-batch production and direct sourcing from cacao farmers. Their commitment to quality and transparency quickly garnered a devoted following. In 2019, they opened a 28,000-square-foot factory and café at 16th and Harrison Streets, featuring the Bloom Chocolate Salon, which offers seasonal menus with sweet and savory breakfast items and prix-fixe afternoon desserts with chocolate, tea service, and ice cream.

In addition to the Pacific Heights location, Dandelion Chocolate operates several other spots in San Francisco, including their original Valencia Street café, a retail shop in the Ferry Building, and the aforementioned 16th Street factory. They have also expanded internationally, with locations in Tokyo and other parts of Japan, as well as a store in Las Vegas.

While specific celebrity endorsements are not documented, Dandelion Chocolate’s dedication to quality has earned it a reputation among chocolate enthusiasts and culinary professionals alike. Their products are often featured in local gift guides, highlighting their appeal as thoughtful, artisanal gifts.

Dandelion Chocolate’s Pacific Heights location continues the company’s mission to bring exceptional, ethically sourced chocolate to the community, offering a delightful experience for both locals and visitors.
